About us

In the 1950´s a plan about a camping started to grow. The camping was the first one in Västerbotten with a heated outside pool 1972 and grew quickly to become a popular visit, especially among the Norwegians. At the end of the 1990´s new modern cabins were built and the large swimming pool was replaced with a little smaller pool.

Lufta camping has a new owner since the spring of 2016. The renovation of our self catering cabins and the restaurant, a new adventure golf stood ready May 25, 2017. 

The first cabin was built 1958 and still stands on the area, but is not for rent.

Before the area became a camping, there was a farm here. On the other side of the E4 just across our camping was another farm. Both farmers were named Anders and to separate them, one of them were called “Ante på Lufta” due to the high location of the farm. Lufta means Up in the air. Ante would be a nick name for Anders. That´s why the name is Lufta camping.
